PolyTerra™️ PLA is a bioplastic based 3D printing filament designed from the ground up to create the next generation of PLA, providing ease of use, printing quality, speed and reliability. It is a sustainable product sourced naturally and for every spool produced a tree is planted to give back to the earth.
More than just environmentally friendly, this filament is designed for quality, easy prints.
Why Eel River Corals chooses Polyterra for it's light shades:
- Polyterra is one of the few production quality filaments available that provides a beautiful matte finish. One of the factors that allows us to easily identify a 3d print from a distance is that many of the plastics are very shiny and each layer line is highlighted with it's sheen. Polyterra's matte finish eliminates this shine and helps hide layers lines creating a smoother appearing part.
- Polyterra Charcoal Black is the least transmissive plastic we have tested in our light shade lab. We found even layers as thin as 0.2mm were capable of blocking 100% of the light, most of our light shade models are 10x thicker than that.
- In addition to its fantastic material qualities, the icing on the cake is that it comes on a cardboard spool made from 100% recycled materials that is truly curb-side recyclable. Many filament providers use a plastic spool without even a resin code stamped on it preventing any chance of recycling, thus requiring they go straight to the land-fill when it runs out.
Spool Size: 1kg
Filament diameter: 1.75mm
Printing Temperature: 190˚C - 230˚C
Bed Temperature: 90˚C - 105˚C
Printing Speed: 30mm/s - 50mm/s
A note on speed, 30-50mm/s is Polymaker's recommendation that will work but modern printers are much faster than when this filament first came to market. You're not limited to the 50mm/s listed here. This filament works perfectly well in a modern bambulabs X1C at ludicrous speed mode. The print speed can affect the finish quality and typically faster speeds make a more matte finish and slower will be somewhat glossier. Extrusion temperature can also affect the finish with glossiness increasing with temperature.
